Writing the Mother Wound One Day Intensive on June 3rd

I first launched Writing the Mother Wound in 2018. I’ve since taught dozens of one-day and multi-week classes and worked with dozens of writers. In 2019, I moderated the standing room only Writing the Mother Wound Panel at AWP, and have partnered with Longreads and NYU’s Latinx Project to publish mother wound essays.

On June 3rd, I am facilitating a one-day, online Writing the Mother Wound Intensive, from 12pm-3pm ET.

In this class, we will:

  • read and examine how writers navigate and approach the mother wound through their writing;
  • use these writings as inspiration to write about our mother wounds;
  • work on freeing ourselves of the shame we carry over daring to want/need to write about our mothers and our relationships with them in a realistic light;
  • find community in our work and understand that despite how isolating this journey can be (as writers, as folks who navigate “not ideal” relationships with their mothers), we are not alone in it…

When: June 3rd, 12pm-3pm ET
Where: Online via Zoom
How much: Suggested donation $75 (You can give more or less. I won’t turn folks away.)
